
Guidelines for Completing the
Annual Program Assessment Report and Improvement Plan
The purpose of the Annual Program Assessment Report and Improvement Plan is to give a brief summary of the assessment results for the current academic year, document the progress of program and student learning outcomes, and more importantly, to provide conclusions and recommendations, based on the analysis of the assessment results, for the program improvement plan for the next year.
The report is due to the Division Chairs and to the Program Review and Assessment Committee by the last contract day in May of each year. The Division Chairs will review the report and provide feedback, especially regarding the Improvement Plan and forward the recommendation together with the report to the President and Dean of Academic Affairs. The Program Review and Assessment Committee will compile the annual assessment report of the WVSCTC and disseminate to the College's community.
The Annual Program Assessment Report and Improvement Plan consists of the following sections:
■ Actions taken as a result of the improvement plan which was based on the previous year's assessment results
Provide a brief description of the actions/changes implemented in the reporting year as a consequence of the previous year's Annual Assessment Report and Improvement Plan. Explain the following:
Modification of course/s
Changes in curriculum
Changes in the assessment plan
Program resources (new equipment, instructional material, training, etc.) purchased in response to assessed need/s.
■ Assessment Results
Provide a brief description of assessment activates and assessment results obtained in the reporting year.
List
Strengths and accomplishments
Challenges
Recommendations for improvement
■ Improvement Plan
List program plans/goals for improvement in the next year and how they will be met. Also, include recommendations for changes in your program/assessment plan.
■ Assistance Needed
Based on the plans for the next year's activities, what kind of assistance from the College (or its administration) is needed?
