Smarthinking is an online tutoring service that WVSCTC is making available to all of its students. Smarthinking provides tutoring in mathematics (basic math through Calculus, including Bilingual Math), Biology, Intro Human A & P, Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physics, Economics, Accounting, Intro to Finance, Statistics, Spanish, and Writing. With Smarthinking you can:

• Connect With an e-structor and interact with a live tutor.

• Submit your Writing for any class to their Online Writing Lab.

• Submit a Question and receive a reply from a tutor.

Getting Started

If this is your first time using SMARTHINKING...

1. Go to www.smarthinking.com.  In the top right hand corner you will see the login boxes.  Enter the username and password displayed in the boxes below.

2. Complete the Registration Form; choose a new username and password. Use this login whenever you need help.

If you already have a SMARTHINKING account, you can go to  www.smarthinking.com and sign-in using your existing username and password. *

If you already have a SMARTHINKING account and need to update, you can...

1. Log into SMARTHINKING using your existing username and password.

2. Click on “My Account.”

3. Click the icon on the left side: “If you received a new username...”

4. Enter the new username and password below - this will recharge your account.

*If you already have an account but this is your first time logging on this term, you will need to update your account.

Technology Requirements OS: Windows 98 +, Mac OS9 + Browser:  Windows: Netscape 6 +, Internet Explorer 5.01 +. Apple Mac: Internet Explorer 5.0+ required. Connection: 28.8K min. / 56K+ preferred Cookies/Javascript should be enabled. Popup Blockers? Please disable all popup blockers for www.SMARTHINKING.com .

Troubleshooting Tips:     Make sure that your browser is set up to allow cookies and pop-up windows. SMARTHINKING uses both of these.     Make sure that you have Java installed. If you need to install Java, go to http://www.java.com, and follow the instructions for the free download.     Make sure that you have FlashÔ version 7.0.19+of for Windows or 7.0.24+ for Mac OS X installed. If you need to install FlashÔ, go to http://www.macromedia.com, and follow the instructions for the free download.
